CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD available for purchase. Many love it as an alternative to Full or Broad Spectrum CBD. CBD Isolate has no other compounds except for CBD – think of it like CBD isolated by itself in a powdered form. It is odorless and tasteless (we sense a Princesbride joke here…moving on.) If you are subject to drug testing or concerned about testing, isolate is a safe bet.
Here’s some other great things about CBD Isolate:
- You can take higher doses of CBD
- You don’t need to worry about THC showing up on a drug test
- Using CBD Isolate is very versatile – read more below for some ideas!
- Good for those who are sensitive to THC or other compounds commonly found in CBD.
- If you want to ease into use of CBD products, using isolate will allow you to experience the effects of CBD only on your body/mind first before exploring Full Spectrum products.
Just keep in mind that when consuming CBD isolate you are not getting that “entourage effect” that many CBD lovers seek out.
Buying CBD Isolate:
For the best CBD Isolate, look for dispensaries that carry products sourced from organically grown hemp. You can trust that hemp-derived CBD make from high-quality and well-sourced plants will give you the best possible CBD product. That’s a rule of thumb you can use no matter what CBD product you are shopping for!
Rooted Hemp Co. CBD Isolate is a highly purified and crystalline CBD extract and it’s:
- Pure Isolated Cannabidiol (CBD)
- Non-synthetic/Natural
- Organically grown Central Oregon Hemp-derived
You may also see CBD Isolate out there labeled as CBD Powder or CBD Crystals. Powders are easier to blend into beverages, and use topically, while crystals are commonly dissolved under the tongue or used in a vaporizer.
Ways to use CBD Isolate Powder:
On your skin:
Add a CBD booster to your favorite lotion or body oil! You could warm the carrier oil gently (we like a high-quality coconut oil, but almond oil and jojoba oils are also great for the skin) and slowly mix in your CBD isolate powder until it is fully integrated into the oil. Let cool before applying to your skin. If you are using a favorite lotion, just mix the CBD isolate into the lotion (if using unscented lotion, consider adding your favorite essential oil at this point as well!). When it is well mixed, you can fill up a lotion dispenser and slather it on at will! See our CBD self-care blog for more ideas.
In your food and drinks:
CBD isolate is great for mixing with food and beverages. You may want to try adding to a smoothie or juice. It also mixes well with hot beverages.
If you are whipping up a salad dressing, sauce or soup, you can also add in CBD isolate at the end of assembling your recipe. Just be careful not to boil or heat things too much after adding the CBD so you don’t lose any of that precious potency. We have lots of recipes using CBD.
Vape or dab:
You may want to vape or dab with a CBD concentrate (like wax or shatter) or if you are going to use a powder then grab a bucket insert or a donut coil on your wax pen to hold it before dabbing.
Take it straight under your tongue:
Just sprinkle some powder directly underneath your tongue and hold it there for about a minute. This is one of the most effective ways to consume CBD because it reaches your bloodstream more directly when consumed sublingually.
